Clan Rememberance Day - April 18, 29484 [2010] - [Agenda request for February]

I thought we should begin prep. We're behind where we were last year - we have about a month and a half, whereas last year I started with months.

At this month's CoT meeting, I would like to request any volunteers to state their interest at February's meeting. If not, I will take lead again, and please feel free to have anyone contact me. Ideally, we would have a committee to decide location. I would be happy to meet people after the CoT meeting at the Happy Rebel to discuss ideas.

My first suggestion is location:

Wine.

Easily reached for even level 1 characters with 2 whompa trips, has a 5% bar for people who want to celebrate, is largely unpopulated ((and we won't bring down a server there, should things go wildly well)). Plus, it has a nice waterfall to stand in front of for speeches.

All in all, a wonderful Clan-siding area with controlled traffic, easy access, etc.

As a theme for this year's celebration, I am suggesting something like "While you fight far from home, remember what we fight for."

This is the first draft of the speech I have prepared:

Free citizens of Rubi-Ka, we met last year on this date in the wastes of the Aegean. We honored the brave workers who would not bend to Omni-Tek's will, and we honored those fell in the struggle for our freedom.

We are still fighting that war. This year, Clan forces have proven overpowering, blocking Omni-Tek access to rare supplies and notum.

This year, I want to thank you for every step you take in combat.

Wine, where you are standing, is an example of what good the Clans can be.

We are not fighting for a utopia. Far from it – the Omni-Tek experiment is enough proof that the best intentions end up corrupted.

I applaud the ability of the Clans to retain their cooperation. Instead of forming one utopia, we have granted ourselves freedom and equality.

Yes, we have granted it to ourselves. Remember this. Take it to heart.

No one has granted us freedom. Omni-Tek did not decide one day to let us be free on a whim. The only decision Omni-Tek made was in miscalculating the will of the people.

Guard our lands and end Omni-Tek tyranny.

I think you for your attention, time, and sacrifice... in both listening to me and carrying on the fight.

For some reason, the ARK Article Submission System isn't up, dunno if they changed it or not.

I have not heard back from the other speakers. I am also taking suggestions for other speeches or events.

About the Article Submission System, try emailing ARKs with your article, mentioning that you could not get it through the ASS system.

I thought about offering a window during the Day for Clans who may want to make a presentation - be it pageantry, pledges, etc. Thoughts?

Hey Raz,

They renamed the "ASS" to "RSS"... Dunno why hehe.
Some of the contact info might have changed.
I can't copy paste any info at this moment due to how I'm plugged in but it's a sticky on the IRRK thread on contact info and such. Hope that helps
